The OSR30 presented by Orchard Street Runners is a checkpoint circumnavigation of Manhattan.  The runners, depending on the route will travel between 30 and 36 miles hitting 3 checkpoints before returning to the start/finish in the Lower Eastside.  Each runner is accompanied by a cyclist to help keep them remain safe while provideing nourishment during the race.  As 200 plus runners embarked on this event I was pulled between who, how and where to travel and document.  I ended up spending time with both the mens and womens winner while managing to capture content of the remaining field at the first checkpoint on the East River.  This event epitomizes the NYC running community for its grit and togetherness.
