Running is an endless dance between discipline and creativity.

In the beginning, discipline orients and directs your practice—you overcome resistance, put in the work, and explore your limits. Cultivation of this mindset and maintenance of these habits allow for greater awareness—sensitivity to changes in your body, mind, and spirit.

From here, true creativity becomes possible—new ways of perceiving, processing, and participating in the world around you. Harnessing the emergent energy supports personal growth—you refine your process, refocus your efforts, and realize your true potential.

For the last several years, a significant part of my running practice has been devoted to every single street projects. Simply defined and self-directed, the minimalist nature of these projects has allowed me to appreciate the cyclical relationship between discipline and creativity.

Linear progress is captured as GPS tracks are woven together in a digital tapestry. Nonlinear experience infuses the fabric with color, texture, and depth.

Discipline drives me forward, consuming resources until I near the point of depletion. Creativity flows in and fills me up so that I may rise and begin again.
